Our bodies have an amazing ability to heal…
I’ve been sick most of my life. I was mostly functional most of the time, but several of my adult years were not what anyone would call functional.
Even when I appeared functional I suffered from all sorts of problems with weird pain, digestive problems, weak muscles, crazy cravings, poor memory, hyper-sensitivity to all sorts of things, lack of energy, and a lot of other problems I might remember later.
I’ve had multiple diagnoses given out of frustration because my body wouldn’t follow the rules. What rules? The rules that say a pill or potion could fix me.
So I turned to supplements, radical diets, cleansing fasts, alternative healers, raw foods, green smoothies, and nutritional advisers. And I read a lot of books. Some of that helped, but only for a short time. Then I would develop new problems or go back into old ones. Nothing ever pulled me completely out of the “sickly” situation.
Then I met Dr. Max.
Through his years of working with chiropractic patients he began to notice patterns. People like me, who grew up on raw cookie dough and still tended to eat too many sweets (and then felt better by eating too much protein to calm the raging stomach) fit into a category he called “left — lemon.” People also like me, who polluted their liver with low-quality oils and excesses of food, drink, or whatever, fit into the category of “right — lemon and oil.” And then there’s the third category who, like me, have a lot stacked against them and suffer in the category of “both — 4C’s.”
Yup, I work out of all three groups. No wonder no one could ever figure out what was wrong with me.
So Dr. Max explained to me the “Why!?” It was because I never learned how to balance my meals.
I always thought balance meant something else, like less sweets and more properly cooked foods. “A good wholesome meal!” Y’know — fried chicken, gravy over mashed potatoes with lots of butter, mushy broccoli, and a nice slice of cake for dessert.
It took me a while to finally get it. But once I did, the changes in my health were obvious.
Long-standing problems fell away.
Am I perfect now? Nope. But am I steadily progressing toward health? Yes!
Am I still pursuing health through supplements? No. In fact, I found that many supplements do more harm than good because of the way they’re processed, or the combinations in them, or because they’ve been treated with radiation. I balance my diet according to The Left Lemon System, and I eat more raw foods and greens.
I’m an educator, a writer, and a researcher. Dr. Max and I have worked together since 2007 to turn the patterns he sees in his patients into a working model to help anyone who is interested. My prayer is that you would find health, and health abundantly!
