All Local Farmer’s Markets –  Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon  farmer’s market meets in the Olympia area, downtown Columbia, rain or shine. 701 Whaley Street.

Sandhill Farmer’s Market Tuesday afternoons May – November, off Clemson Road in Northeast Columbia.

SC State Farmer’s Market — not much organic produce but a lot of local produce.

City Roots — produce, sprouts, education in clean farming techniques.

 

Big Box stores that carry organic produce most of the time

Kroger – most stores have health food sections, including refrigerated/frozen, and organic produce including meats and poultry

Publix — most stores have healthier choice foods next to others, ie. Lindsey undyed ripe olives next to the regular olives. Organic produce in separate section.

Fresh Market — at Trenholm Plaza. Some organic products, high quality produce.

Earth Fare — on Devine Street. Some organic produce, meats & poultry, meals, sandwiches/wraps.

Whole Foods — North of Charleston (Mt. Pleasant) and in Greenville. Coming to Columbia in 2012!
